Description:
This is a Sebastian Caine (Kevin Bacon) mask made for
the 2000 Paul Verhoeven’s invisible-man thriller Hollow Man. An experiment goes
horribly awry and scientist Caine (Bacon) becomes permanently invisible. In
order to be seen by his colleagues, they pour latex over his face to make a
visible mask. This mask is made of latex and resembles melting plastic, as it
does in the movie. This particular mask was created for the scene were Caine
draws on eyebrows, used from the point they cut to the finished mask and where
he puts on the hat to the point he goes to the elevator. This mask measures
approximately 15" x 7" (38cm x 18cm); includes a wood stand . The
mask is in good condition but the mouth edges have started to break, as well as
to the lower base has broken pieces of latex.
Screenmatched to the scene where Dr. Caine (Kevin
Bacon) prepares the explosive to exploit laboratory to the point he goes to the
elevator.
This piece will come with a signed letter of
authenticity from Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. co-founders Alec Gillis and Tom
Woodruff, Jr.
