Prop script pages from the multi Oscar winning movie Shakespeare in Love for the character of Mercutio performed by Ben Affleck as Ned Alleyn. These pages are from the production of Romeo And Juliet, underway as a back drop as the love story between Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Fiennes. Specifically these pages comes from after Romeo receives a death threat from Tybalt, Mercutio expects Romeo to engage Tybalt in a duel. However, Romeo refuses to fight Tybalt, as Tybalt is Juliet's cousin and therefore his kinsman. Mercutio is incensed at his friend's "calm, dishonorable, vile submission", and decides to fight Tybalt himself. Romeo, not wanting his friend or his relative to get hurt, intervenes, causing Mercutio to be killed by Tybalt's stabbing Mercutio "under [Romeo's] arm."
Before he dies, Mercutio curses both the Montagues and Capulets, crying several times, "A plague o' both your houses!" (Act III, Sc. 1, often quoted as "A pox on both your houses"). In the movie Ben Affleck permormer as Ned Alleyn. These script pages features dialog between Mercutio, Romeo,Tybolt and Benvolio, and these can be seen on screen when Ben Affleck’s character gets assigned the role of Mercutio, under the guise that Mercutio is the most important character. The pages measure 17cm x 25cm (6.5" x 10") and have a printed text made to resemble inked script.
