Description:
Bruce Nolan (Carrey), a television reporter in Buffalo, N.Y., is discontented with almost everything in life despite his popularity and the love of his girlfriend, Grace (Aniston). At the end of the worst day of his life, Bruce angrily ridicules and rages against God and God responds. God appears in human form (Freeman) and, endowing Bruce with divine powers, challenges Bruce to take on the big job to see if he can do it any better.
Screen used by Jim Carrey as "Bruce Nolan". This pager was modified with God's phone number, and used for various shots as the number style is slightly different from the close up insert shots.
Interesting to note that when the movie was in the theaters, it had a phone number other than the usual movie "555" number. When many people around the US received calls on that number in various Area Codes, the studio changed all of the shots and even the voice segment when Bruce says the number. In the screen captures to the left, you can see the original theatrical release pager and then the replaced pager for video distribution.
