Movie: Everest (2015)
Category: Wardrobe
Celebrity: Jake Gyllenhaal
Description:
Scott Fischer’s (Jake Gyllenhaal) mountaineering costume from the Working Title adventure biopic Everest (2015). The movie tells the story of New Zealand's Robert "Rob" Edwin Hall, who on May 10, 1996, together with Scott Fischer, teamed up on a joint expedition to ascend Mount Everest.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays Scott Fischer, one of two experienced mountain guides leading groups up Mount Everest the day of the 1996 disaster.
Gyllenhaal wore this costume during the climb up the higher levels of Mount Everest towards its summit.
The lot consists of a teal and black Helly Hansen down suit, a black woollen “Mountain Madness” hat, a pair of blue and green Helly Hansen gloves, a grey fleece neck buff, black Uvex goggles with orange lens, a pair of black Forty Below overboots (size large), a black thermal Helly Hansen beanie, a turquoise length of webbing and a set of black crampons. An original wardrobe tag is attached to the webbing reading “Webbing for Scott Fischer.” Labels are adhered to the inside of the down suit, gloves, hat, neck buff, goggles, overboots and crampons reading “Scott Fischer.” Showing signs of production wear including imitation snow residue throughout and the down suit’s padding has been removed, the costume remains in good condition.
