Ghost Rider (2007) Ghost Rider's (Nicolas Cage) Stunt Shotgun

Movie: Ghost Rider (2007)
Category: Movie Prop
Celebrity: Nicolas Cage
Description:
A Model 1887 Winchester shotgun used in the production of the 2007 Marvel action film Ghost Rider. Selling his soul to help cure his father of cancer, stunt man Johnny Blaze (Nicholas Cage) has his debt cashed in by the devil Mephistopheles (Peter Fonda), turning Blaze into the demonic Ghost Rider so that he can stop his son Blackheart (Wes Bentley) from taking over the world.

Given to Blaze by former Texas Ranger and "Caretaker" Carter Slade (Sam Elliott), this shotgun was used by Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider) as he battles the evil Blackheart in the ghost townand and graveyard of San Venganza . Made of semi soft rubber with an ornately detailed receiver, the shotgun was used in a number of sequences on the film set by Nicolas Cage , Eva Mendes and Wes Bentley when the hero firing version of the weapon was not required. The weapon is a static piece with detailing on the side featuring the lone star of Texas. The shotgun itself is finished to replicate the look of steel with a wood stock, with minor distressing applied to make the weapon appear well used in the service of the Ghost Rider. The support rod was broken during the fights and this is the same gun that flies across the graveyard where Roxanne (Eva Mendes) picks it up (according film armourer) . This prop already broken can be seen on screen when Cage shoots Blackheart (see photo), as seen in the screenshots of this scene, missing the detailed part  on the right side. Nicolas Cage exactly signed the prop on this side on the film set when shooting ended.

Displaying some minor wear and missing paint from use on the production, the shotgun remains in a production-used condition.
